Recently I went to a round of the ‘ARB Australian Off-Road Racing Championship’ at Rainbow in Northern Victoria and having competed in several Australian Safari Desert Races over the years, it was a great to catch up with old friends and rekindle many memories.

Jeff Newick, the National Motorsport and technical Manager for Exclusive Tyre Distributors who import the Cooper and Mickey Thompson range of tyres which are used by many of the teams, is a big supporter of not only this series but many off-road racing series around Australia.

His passion for the sport is enormous and having been around it for nearly thirty years, his experience to many is invaluable.

In our chat we talk about the off-road racing scene in Australia, some of Jeff’s experiences as a navigator in ‘Winch Challenge Competitions’, his other passion of photography and what makes a good tyre.
