I reckon most people involved in most forms of motor racing in Australia would have had a connection of some sort to Barrie Smith, through his companies Barrie Smith Motorsport (BSM Sport) or Competition Friction. They’ve been supplying all types of racing equipment from helmets, race suites, race seats, harness’s, intercoms, steering wheels, brake kits, clutches, fuel kits and so much more (even GoPro cameras). 30 years later and they are still going strong.

Barrie has always had a love of cars and started off dirt rallying in NSW. Then he came across Targa Tasmania Tarmac Rally many years ago and is now a regular competitor at most Tarmac Rallies around the country, in fact he recently came third outright in the Targa High Country Sprint.
