DeLorean emerges from its own time machine

If you’re a film buff, you’re probably aware that the highest-grossing film in 1985 was the first of the ‘Back to the Future’ franchise, which was followed in 1989 with ‘Back to the Future – Part 2’ and then in 1990 with ….wait for it…’Back to the Future – Part 3’.

The films follow the adventures of high school student, Marty McFly, and an eccentric scientist, Dr Emmett “Doc” Brown as they use a DeLorean time machine to time travel to different periods in the history of the fictional town of Hill Valley, California.

All three films starred Michael J Fox as Marty Fly, Christopher Lloyd as “Doc” and the 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 as itself – the time machine.

Since the movie were first seen in the late 80’s, there’s been a short film, animated television series and in 2020 a stage musical production based on the adventures of Marty and Doc.

In fact, last month fans of ‘Back to the Future’ were thrilled to see Michael J Fox and Christopher Lloyd together and on stage at a Comic Con Convention in New York. It was an emotional time for all who were there to witness firsthand the bond these two actors have for each other, particularly as Michael J Fox continues to bravely battle Parkinson Disease.

That vision from the convention went viral with more than 10 million views in a very short amount f time, so there is obviously still a great amount of love for the Back to the Future franchise, it’s main actors and maybe the DeLorean car.

Well, I’m sure this is what the owners of the new DeLorean Motor Company (no connection to the original DMC other than the company based in Humble, Texas bought the rights to the name) are hoping as they’re about to release their new Electric Vehicle, the DeLorean Alpha5, as this CNN story outlines:

The new DeLorean has been nearly forty years in the making and although currently in concept form, it’s expected to be on the roads in 2024. The DeLorean Alpha 5 is certainly a very impressive-looking car as you’ll see in the following Supercar Blondie video:

I wonder if you are able t time travel in the new DeLorean, like how cool would it be that when a cop pulls you over speeding you can flick a button on the dashboard that takes you back 15 minutes so you can slow down!!!
