I think I speak for most car enthusiasts when I say that there is something about a Lamborghini that fascinates me. Most of us will never own one nor will even drive one, but when you see them in the flesh, they almost mesmerise you. And when a new Lamborghini model is unveiled, it commands global attention — especially when it’s as revolutionary as the Lamborghini Temerario.
The Lamborghini Temerario is more than just the successor to the Huracán – it marks a bold leap into the future of performance. Staying true to Lamborghini’s tradition of naming their cars after legendary Spanish fighting bulls, the Temerario takes its name from an 1875 champion bull, meaning “fierce and courageous.”
Replacing the naturally aspirated V10 Huracan, the Temerario is a plugin hybrid powered by a mid-engine V8 (the first since the Lamborghini Jalpa in 1981) and two other electric motors on the front axle, that boasts a monstrous pair of turbo chargers (the first ever turbo Lamborghini), which red lines at 10,0000 rpm and has a top speed of 343 km/h and 0 – 100km/h in 2.7 seconds. It’s a monster!
Key Statistics
- A twin-turbocharged mid-mounted V8 engine (Lamborghini’s first turbo engine)
- Two front-mounted electric motors
- A redline of 10,000 rpm
- 907 horsepower (676 kW)
- 0–100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds
- A top speed of 343 km/h
Expected to arrive in Australia in early 2026, the Lamborghini Temerario will start at $613,885 AUD plus on-road costs — over $150,000 more than the outgoing Huracán Evo AWD. While this may be considered Lamborghini’s new “entry-level” model, there’s nothing entry-level about its specs or performance.
On the racing front, Lamborghini is developing a GT3 racing version of the Temerario, built to Group GT3 regulations, which will debut in 2026, and replace the Huracan GT3 Evo 2 as Lamborghini’s main GT3 race car. It will be using the same twin-turbo V8 as the streetcar, but without electric motors, as these are not allowed in GT3 racing. There are also plans to introduce a Super Trofeo version of the Temerario in 2027, to replace the Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2.
With the debut of the Temerario, Lamborghini is showing the world that electrified supercars can still deliver thrilling performance, outrageous styling, and unmatched character. It’s a blend of innovation and tradition – combining modern hybrid technology with the raw emotion that defines every Lamborghini.
