Famous Insurance has joined forces with Porsche Carrera Cup Australia racer Glen Wood, becoming corporate associates for season 2025.
The partnership will see Famous Insurance branding adorn Wood’s Earl Bamber Motorsport prepared #911 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (Type 992) for all eight rounds of Australia’s premier single-make championship.
The deal will also see Famous Insurance branding at an athlete-level on Wood’s race suit as well as partner branding on the car.
Wood embarked on his maiden full-time season of Carrera Cup competition in season 2024, steadily navigating the super-competitive series to cap off his season in 13th overall.
Now back for his second-consecutive Carrera Cup season in 2025, Wood has his eyes forward and is focussed on consistency and converting his genuine pace into results.
“I’m delighted to welcome Famous Insurance Brokers to the Wood Motorsport family for season 2025.” Said Wood.
“There are a lot of synergies between myself and Famous. They share my love for cars and motorsport, they understand cars and motorbikes more than most – they speak my language.
“At its core, the backbone of Famous is made up of car and motorsport fanatics. That’s what makes them stand out from their competition.
“To have a specialist brand such as Famous supporting myself both on and off the track, is an honour.
“Gearing up for this season, my testing times at the tail end of the Summer break have been very encouraging, there is pace up my sleeve so it’s just a matter of forging ahead and converting the speed into results”
Famous Insurance Manager, Paul Vernall, echoed Wood’s excitement for the year ahead, adding that the partnership with Wood was an easy decision.
“Glen’s devotion to his racing and his involvement in the motoring community is a living embodiment of Famous’ core values. To partner with someone who is so passionate about their partnerships and bringing everyone together is exciting” Said Vernall.
“Famous has taken some significant steps forward in the last 12-months, as part of a multi-year strategy to grow our brand and expand our industry-leading, specialist insurance offering to new customers and be the brand that live and breath motoring.”
“In a way, this partnership is symbolic of our latest step forward.
“We are excited for the year ahead and I’m keen to join our clients and racing fans in cheering on Glen from the fences, or the couch.
“We also encourage our followers to keep an eye on our socials for news and updates for Glen’s appearances at our attended events.”
