Melbourne’s beloved Highball Cars and Coffee event is heading back to the country, with a strong focus on supporting communities impacted by recent bushfires.
Taggerty, VIC – On Sunday 19 April 2026, the scenic Erindale Hayshed will once again welcome hundreds of car and motorbike enthusiasts for the annual Highball Goes Country Cars and Coffee. Hosted by the Highball Motor Club, the event aims to exceed last year’s impressive 500-vehicle turnout while raising essential funds for the Buxton, Taggerty, and Acheron CFA brigades.
Now in its fourth year, the event brings together automotive enthusiasts and families alike for a relaxed day celebrating cars, bikes, and country hospitality along the picturesque Acheron River.
This year’s gathering carries added meaning in the wake of the devastating Longwood bushfires, which scorched nearly 140,000 hectares across the region and came within kilometres of the Erindale Hayshed. Local CFA brigades played a critical role in protecting lives, homes, and farmland during the crisis.
Entry to the event is by donation, with all proceeds going directly to the CFA brigades. Vendors will also contribute a portion of their takings, ensuring every visitor helps support the volunteers who protect the region year-round.
The Highball Motor Club is known for its inclusive approach, welcoming all vehicles regardless of make, model, or era. Its regular Melbourne meets attract around 1,000 cars, and this country edition promises the same vibrant energy in a stunning rural setting.
Visitors can enjoy:
- Coffee and snacks from Grant Street Grocer (Alexandra)
- Lunch options from the Marysville Lions Club food van
- Local brews from Bonfire Station Brewery
- Live music throughout the day
- A wide variety of cars and bikes from across Victoria
CFA volunteers will also be on-site assisting with event operations.
The Erindale Hayshed’s iconic maple tree-lined driveway will be in full autumn colour, providing a spectacular backdrop for photography. Guests are encouraged to bring their cameras to capture their vehicles among the vivid red foliage.
Located at 2655 Maroondah Highway, Taggerty, the venue is approximately 110 km from Melbourne via the Yarra Valley and the renowned Black Spur. Vehicles typically begin arriving from 8:00 am, with activity continuing through to mid-afternoon.
