Famous Insurance attended the MG Car Club of Victoria’s 60th Anniversary Concours held at the beautify Wesley College grounds off St Kilda Road.
A fantastic turnout of enthusiasts that amassed a wide range of MG’s famed marque had something for everyone. The obvious vehicles from the brand such as the iconic MG B made up a large portion with variations from early Mk1’s to the late rubber bumper models and a sprinkling of GT’s.
Perhaps unexpected is the wide range of F and TF models from the later years on display, the model has become a bargain sports car for those open to alternatives to the MX5 and some of the examples of the F and TF were in fantastic condition. A quick check of the classifieds and club listings mean you can pick these up under $10,000 which is great value motoring.
As you walked around the beautiful grounds there was plenty of classic’s, the MG C six cylinder, variations of the MG A from Roadster to Coupe, Original to Modified, the later MG Rover era was celebrated with the MG ZT saloon as well as the MG ZR hot hatch and the MG RV8 that still looks pretty good some 30 plus years on. MG TC, TD and plenty more represented the historic era, some of them presented better than they would have been news and to show the wide range of the club a couple of current model MG’s including a MG 3 and some ZS’s also on display.
The club also had one of the latest models in private hands with an enthusiastic owner presenting their striking MG Cyberster, the model a full EV has some serious presence and over 500hp on tap. It is exciting to see the MG brand back in a sportscar continuing the styling that made the brand so famous.
Over 200 MG enthusiasts were in attendance, you can take a snapshot with some of our images below from the day. We look forward to doing more with the MGCC Victoria into the future.
