2025 Aston Martin Vantage

Whilst talking with David Dowsey for this month’s Famous Last Words Podcast, I could totally understand his love for Aston Martins, after all, I grew up watching James Bond movies.

The original James Bond novels were first published in 1953 by Ian Fleming, a British author, journalist, and former naval intelligence officer, who decided that 007’s car of choice should be a Bentley.  However (thankfully), some movie directors saw it differently, and in the 1964 movie ‘Goldfinger’ we saw the Bond in that amazing Aston Martin DB5. Over the years no fewer than 8 Aston Martins have featured in James Bond films, and some of them have been in multiple Bond movies.

Ever since then I’ve been an admirer of the Aston Martin brand with the latest iteration of the Vantage which was first released in November 2018 being the best and according to all reports the soon to be released 2025 version takes it to another level.

Imagine a stunning looking car with a race-tuned 4.0 litre twin turbo V8 engine that delivers 800Nm of torque, 665PS of power, takes you from 0-100km/h in just 3.5 seconds and will eventually run out of grunt around 325km/h …..

The New Aston Martin Vantage – Engineered for real driver

According to some reports, Aston Martins goal is that every car it builds should be the most powerful in its class, and to achieve this, it’s had a good look at the new Mercedes-AMG GT (577bhp), Ferrari Roma (612bhp) and Porsche 911 Turbo S(641bhp) and then boosted their version of the  4.0-litre twin-turbo AMG V8 up by over 150bhp. Apparently, this is possible due to a new agreement they made with Mercedes AMG that allows it much more freedom to play with the motors over what AMG normally ships out in a crate.
