Steve Hoinville is a mechanical engineer who I met many years ago whilst doing Targa Tasmania. He and his brother raced a very fast Ford Escort and combined with Steve’s considerable driving talent, ensured the team was regularly at the pointy end of the field. Unfortunately, on occasions the highly-strung car chucked a hissy fit and decided not to go any further, which definitely kept the Hoinville brothers from gracing the podium.

In this month’s Famous Last Words podcast, I chat to Steve about his love of racing; his father Graham Hoinville who was one of the founding members of CAMS, and amongst other things the champion co-driver of the inaugural CAMS Australian Rally Championship alongside Harry Firth; and we’ll talk about Steve’s latest business
venture, Motum Simulation.
