In a previous life from 2003 to 2009, I was involved in a motoring television series for the Nine Network called “The Car Show”, not the most imaginative title, but it succinctly told the viewers what the show was all about. We had a lot of fun looking at old and new cars and most importantly the characters that you found loitering around them.
One of the presenters on the series was Dieter Kahsnitz, who had a real love of cars, never really took himself too seriously and had (and still has) a personality that exudes enthusiasm.
Since then, Dieter went on to create 50 Kal Communications, a very successful film production company, and although he still has a love of cars and motor bikes, his passion today is based around mountain bike riding, to the extent that he and mountain bike World Champion Paul van der Ploeg, recently hosted a television series for SBS titled ‘Trail Towns’.
I hope you enjoy this month’s Famous Last Words chat with a good mate of mine, Dieter Kahsnitz, or as we know him ‘Deetz’.
