Gone in 60 Seconds Tow Truck

It goes without saying that the world is far more security conscious than it’s ever been, particularly when it comes to Airport security and in particular Middle Eastern Airports.

Due to terrorism threats and car bombings, authorities nowadays certainly don’t mess around when it comes to removing unattended cars, have a look at this clip from Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokcen International Airport:

For some reason when I saw that video, I thought of the movie “Gone in 60 Seconds” ….. which was originally released in 1974 (and had the honour of totally wrecking 125 cars during its production), but it’s the remake in 2000 starring Nicolas
Cage and Angelina Jolie, that most people remember. Basically, it’s a 105 minute car chase with heaps of carnage, but in my mind the real star was without doubt ‘Eleanor’ – the stunning Dupont Pepper Grey custom 1967 Ford Mustang GT500.

This trailer for the 2000 movie may bring back a few memories for you:

Anyhow, getting back to the gone in 60 seconds tow truck, here’s another shot of it clearing city streets of unattended cars. I wonder if we’ll see them on our clearways anytime soon?
