The much-anticipated series 4 of ‘Drive to Survive’ which is based around the 2021 Formula 1 season is now available on Netflix and there are millions of fans who have already binged on the ten episodes.

Some sceptics suggested that the final race finish in Abu Dhabi could have been orchestrated for television, this may or may not be the case, however there is no doubt that the producers would have been thrilled to see Max Verstappen crowned champion ahead of seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton under what can only be described as extremely controversial circumstances.

In addition to the Hamilton-Verstappen controversy, the series also looks at McLaren enjoying a terrific season, Esteban Ocon winning a crazy race in Hungary, Sergio Perez growing into his role as Verstappen’s teammate at Red Bull, what the hell is going on at HAAS and much more.

In this series several drivers who in the past have been integral parts of the previous series, including Max Verstappen, are not involved.

According to Associated Press, Verstappen said he didn’t “like being a part of it”, and “I understand that it needs to be done to boost the popularity in America. But from my side as a driver, I don’t like being part of it. They faked a few rivalries which they don’t really exist. So, I decided to not be a part of it and did not give any more interviews after that because then there is nothing you can show.”

“I am not really a dramatic show kind of person, I just want facts and real things to happen.”

In the past, many have questioned the integrity of the editing within the series and as to whether Netfilix had gone too far with their creative licence to ensure the series are entertaining.

Whatever the case, there is no doubt that Series 4 of ‘Drive to Survive’ is going to be just as successful as the previous 3 series.
